Rqon's Random Rant: [Figma Review] Figma 073 Teana Lanster Barrier Jacket ver.

This time, I'm going to use english for all my figure-review related blog entries. Why? So that my international friends could understand and having a viewing pleasure just as much as we do :3. Afterall, our language wasn't that beautiful (I'm not being a nationalist here I know :3) and it would be easier for me if I ever made another blog for international readers.

So, we're having a Teana Figma Review today! This probably one of my best purchase up to this date, along with Signum related figures, Ignis related figures and the ever elusive Figma Miku: Live Stage (Well it's not that elusive but it's limited nonetheless).

First thing first, I have to apologize, I dont have any fancy background or anything, I have to use these background provided by the Figma for the review, oh well, don't expect much from the photos :3

So who's this Teana I've been talking about? She's one of many heroines of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. For you who might be new on this Nanoha subject, I'll keep it simple, Nanoha is a mini sized lesbian gundam on crack. Get it? I'm not expecting you to, but nailed it onto your heads. She's one of the new recruits on Riot Force 6, a division of Time and Space Administration Bureau who's in charge for retrieving and investigating lost logias. I'll explain those shits later, moving on to Teana now. What? you want me to explain who Nanoha is?

Seriously, the pictures above describe Nanoha to the core, no shit. I recommend all the mecha lovers to watch it, THIS IS NOT A LITTLE KID SHOW. It's a pity they dont show any nips on the transformation scene, although it's kinda arousing already :3. Expect beams, Zenryouku Zenkai, and heads rolling. Well, not really heads, mecha heads, Nanoha never kill, not yet, but at least lots of total mass destruction will occur.

Now on to Teana, She's one of the new recruits, and accidentally the oldest amongst the recruits so she has to bear the responsibility of the squad which will be called forward (Yeah, they're the front lines, pity huh?). As I said, being the oldest means you have to bear the responsibility of a leader, that means you have to be wise, quick on adapting on situations, fast decision maker and last but not least, the most important part of being Teana is to have the MOST developed body..... for a 16 years old.

I'll go into some deeper discussion about this probably later as we'll talk about the figma here, not the character as a whole.

Introduction

As usual, Max Factory maintain their high standards on their Figmas. Having made more than 50 Figmas (it's reaching 100 sometime soon) polished their skills beyond godlike. over 9000, yeah. Teana comes in orange colored box with some jazzy figma decorations and photos all over it. I bet the inside must be as delicious as the outside part.

The Figma

You just cant stop staring at her, that proportion, that beautifully made hair, the thin fingers, oh and the black pantsu (NO I WONT SHARE IT WITH Y'ALL ANIMALS X3). The QC is great, everything is perfect, except the barrier jacket lining, which is sadly, the incurable disease EVERY Nanoha series figma has. No highlight on the hair like BRS have, but she did have a nice, long hair.

Paint and Details

Eh, it's the usual for Max's details, being a regular Figma I expect her to have some defects or the others, but this one seems fine. You really cant argue about how good the details are. The paints are great, it's almost flawless, if not for the stupid lining disease.

There's this crazy flaw I found while posing Teana though. The paint from her hands seems prone to transferring, like this photo below, I want to pose her touching here thighs here, but I failed to notice that her gloves grazes the socks few times and disaster happened.

Luckily, one of my friends from the forums once give me a good way to clean a paint transfer or any other stain from your figures. How? With a good used toothbrush, and a toothpaste :3. It does work. Now let's see the other details.

Articulation

What does a figma ball joint means? Heaven. I wont explain much on this matter. It is possible to do extreme poses with these joints, but my heart will ache to look Teana do some silly poses, I'll leave that up to Lelouch for the other time. He's durable.

Playability

It's awesome, love the joints and the accessories, that's my main reason of buying all these Nanoha figmas. Superb quality, for superb price and comes with abundant of accessories. A cheap price to pay for all of these. With the joints, the faceplates that makes any emotion flow with any kind of movements or poses possible, and of course the accessories. it's one hell of a time playing with this babe.

Price

Ah, I didnt bought this one, it was traded :3. But for a retailed price of 2800-ish Yen or somewhere around 30-ish Dollar, well this figure is a solid buy for everyone, be it Figma fans or a new timer. Heck it's even good for any 6" figure collector.
